Good and Bad I don't think I'm ever getting my money back Teh sis and I are going to the British Museum tomorrow! Wooo!!!! Time Goes By So Slowly. . . .I sent the person who owes me dough a message last night. A message which was quite short and to the point. I couldn't be bothered to ask them how they are, because I don't really care. I called them three times on saturday and the phone just rang and rang. So far, no replies, and still no money, so down with the pleasantries! I pointed out that I'd asked them a whole month ago and that I had wanted it back before I needed it, and now I need it. In my opinion, unless major bank fraud has been committed and all their money is gone, they have no excuse. I can understand if you're a busy person, but you're telling me that in the last MONTH you couldn't spare 20 MINUTES to go into a bank? Puh-lease!!!! Rant over And the award for most adorable film of the year goes to . . . Wall.E! Seriously, it was such an adorable film! The graphics were really good, the storyline was cute and thought-provoking, and I was amazed at how the awesome people at Pixar managed to draw you into the film using only actions and no words. At the beginning of the film, you can't help but feel sorry for poor little Wall.E. By the middle of the film, you're laughing, and yet going "aaaaaaww" over the cute and, sometimes weepy, moments. By the end of the film, I can honestly say that teh sis and I were wiping tears from our eyes. It was such a sweet, emotional ending, we just couldn't help it. I think it's a great movie for kids, although I think that some of the underlying points might be lost on them. But like I said, it was thought-provoking for us older kids (hahaha), who have the ability to analyse beneath the surface. I even said to teh sis at one point that Wall.E would be a great film to study and discuss from a sociological perspective. Yes, sociology is never far from my mind. In fact, today I nipped into Waterstone and noted three books that I want to get next year. The first is an examination of children and society, the second is a HUGE book on research methods, the third is an even bigger book on those sociological masters Karl Marx, Emile Durkheim and Max Weber. Yes, I'm a total nerd, but I'm allowed to be. I'm trying to aim for a 1st, or at least a high 2.1. Anyway. . . in short, Wall.E is good and sociology is nearly as good lol. I still have not gotten my money back, something which is still really annoying me. I'm EXTREMELY pissed off at that person. And now, the best thing!!!!! My sister bought me this awesome green jacket that I saw in H&M. I really liked it and wanted it, but I was good and didn't get it. But then when Melissa met me after work, she bought it for me!!!! Bless teh sis. I think I said "thank you" about 50 times. My sister is fantastic! Dum di dum diddy dum dum I am no longer really really broke, no thanks to a certain someone who shall remain nameless. Obviously, this doesn't mean I'm going to spend all my money, but it does mean that I can actually do things during the week, like visit my friends for lunch or go to the cinema. In fact, tomorrow, I have to go and book advanced tickets to see The Dark Knight on Thursday. I can't wait!!! |
